Emma Cooper

Principal

Emma has a talent for bringing order into any space, with a particular interest in residential and home office organizing, and she also specializes in managing chronic disorganization. With an accounting and management background, she is uniquely equipped for her leadership role with Clarity Jane. Emma's confident and approachable style enables her to achieve results with even the most help-resistant and chronically disorganized clients.

Emma is currently active as a Professional Organizer with Clarity Jane, in addition to her role as Chief Executive Officer. She will officially be a Certified Professional Organizer after she completes her exams in October 2008; she is a member of Professional Organizers in Canada, Vancouver chapter, and of the National Study Group of Chronic Disorganization.

Background

Emma has over a decade of experience in the financial industry, beginning with her early days as a mortgage closer with Royal Bank Financial Group (from 1995 to 1999). After working in public practice accounting—first as a junior accountant with Manning Elliott LLP, Chartered Accountants (1999 to 2002) then as a senior accountant/manager with Fernandez Young LLP, Certified General Accountants (2003 to 2006)—she transitioned to corporate accounting, working first with Aquilini Investment Group Ltd. as a senior accountant and assistant controller, then moving to Bentall Capital in 2007 as an accounting supervisor.

Emma also spent time as a project coordinator for a Real Estate Investment company. In this role she was responsible for organizing the office, and keeping it organized.

In February 2008, Emma decided that it was time to walk away from her accounting career in favour of her true vocation—her gift for organizing those around her.

Education

Emma is currently at the fourth level of studies with the Certified General Accounting Association (CGA), though her accounting studies are on hold in favour of training as a Professional Organizer through Professional Organizers in Canada.
