Give Your Junk A Fresh Start

A great way to dispose of clutter from your house is to use a recycling company rather than a junk removal company. Junk companies just take everything to the dump, regardless of what it is. A recycling company, on the other hand, works to limit the environmental impact of your old stuff as much as possible.

Choosing to recycle rather than add to the local landfill isn’t the cheapest option, of course. Junk removers don’t need special training or anything other than a truck, so they can usually undercut the recyclers in terms of price. But ask yourself if it’s worth it to pay a little more, so you can feel good about your old stuff’s destination.

In Vancouver, we’re lucky to have Fresh Start Recycling. I highly recommend them, and encourage all my clients to choose recycling rather than the landfill whenever possible.

The term junk can be applied broadly to everything from tree branches to old paint, creating a problem for one-size-fits-all disposal methods.
