Happy Thanksgiving

Here in Canada, it’s Thanksgiving Monday.  Last night, I enjoyed a nice dinner with my family, as many of you probably also did—others may be celebrating with a holiday feast tonight.  The food and love were plentiful.  I am very lucky.

Thanksgiving, or any holiday for that matter, is a good time to give to the less fortunate.  Most people assume that giving means money, or at least buying food for the local Food Bank, and money and food are good and generous gifts.  But you can also give used household goods to those who really need them, with the added self-benefit of clearing clutter and reducing waste.

Check out Gather and Give, a local Vancouver charity that connects people with resources to people in need—click on “get involved” on the top menu, and then choose “donate goods” to see a list of what they need and their drop-off locations.

Happy Thanksgiving!
