« It’s Garage Sale Fever!
Card Cubby: An Attractive “Wallet” »

Household Clutter into Cash?

We’ve all got boxes of stuff that we haven’t used in years. Some of it would make great donations for the Salvation Army or Good Will. You could also look at selling your “stuff” in a Garage Sale, or online through a site like Craig’s List of eBay.

Follow these steps to start selling your clutter online:
1. Decide what you want to sell and set it aside. Choose good quality items.
2. Choose an online site like eBay or Craig’s List. For a step-by-step guide to selling on eBay, visit www.ebay.ca/selling.
3. Search for sellers with similar items. Read their listings and find a way to make your similar product stand out and grab a buyer’s attention.
4. Write a short description of the item including size and weight (if applicable), as well as a starting price.
5. Take 2-4 pictures of your item from different angles. Make sure they are good quality pictures and are well-lit.
6. Choose easy payment methods (like PayPal) and research shipping details.
7. Post your listing and wait for the offers to pour in!

Remember, one person’s clutter is another person’s treasure!

TIP FOR BUYERS: If you’re looking to save on your next household purchase, look for that item secondhand through or thrift stores or online auction sites. Do be careful if meeting the seller in person, or passing on personal information to the seller.)
